(SKĐS) – In the early years of life, a child’s immune system is still immature. When exposed to pathogens, children are more susceptible to respiratory infections, digestive issues, and colds.
Amid outbreaks and unpredictable weather, strengthening immunity through scientific nutrition has become a foundational strategy to help children stay healthy and develop sustainably.

Immunity – the first line of defense for young children
According to nutrition experts, the immune system is the body’s natural “shield” against viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens. At birth, a child’s immunity largely comes from antibodies received from the mother during pregnancy and through breast milk, especially IgG antibodies that can be transferred via the placenta. However, these antibodies only persist during the first few months after birth and begin to decline after the child reaches six months of age, while the child’s own active immune system is still underdeveloped.
During this period, immune cells such as B and T lymphocytes are just starting to learn how to recognize, remember, and attack pathogens. Because these cells are not yet fully “trained,” children are highly vulnerable to viruses and bacteria, leading to respiratory infections, digestive illnesses, colds, and repeated bacterial infections.
Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that seasonal influenza – traditionally considered a winter-spring illness – is now circulating year-round. In many countries across Asia, Europe, and North America, hospitals have reported a 1.5–2 times increase in hospitalizations due to influenza complications compared with the same period last year. In Vietnam, the Ministry of Health also warns that the number of children hospitalized with influenza in September–October 2025 has risen sharply, especially in large cities with high population density and unstable weather.
In this context, proactively strengthening immunity in young children is considered a top priority to protect health and reduce the risk of seasonal illnesses.
Science-based immune support solution
In response to the rising incidence of seasonal illnesses among young children, Nutricare has partnered with the Nutricare Medical Nutrition Institute – USA (NMNI-USA) to research solutions that enhance immunity based on the body’s natural mechanisms. In particular, combining a high concentration of IgG antibodies from colostrum with Postbiotic probiotic technology is seen as a breakthrough approach for proactive immune care.

Colostrum is a unique source of nutrition, rich in IgG antibodies (Immunoglobulin G), which play a crucial role in protecting the body. IgG antibodies can recognize and neutralize invading viruses and bacteria, enabling the immune system to respond more quickly to pathogens. Including colostrum in a child’s diet is considered an effective way to boost natural antibody levels, especially from 6 months to 3 years of age, when maternal antibody levels decline. Studies have shown that children supplemented with IgG antibodies have a lower risk of respiratory and digestive infections and recover faster when ill.
Postbiotics are bioactive compounds produced during probiotic fermentation, containing enzymes, peptides, and organic acids with high biological activity. They are heat-stable and can directly influence the digestive and immune systems. Research indicates that postbiotic strains, particularly Lactococcus lactis Plasma, can activate plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) – the “leaders” of the immune system, enhancing type I interferon production and stimulating the entire immune network. This helps children not only defend against pathogens but also develop stronger self-protection against external threats.
Achievements from 15 years of applying medical nutrition
Through collaboration with the Nutricare Medical Nutrition Institute – USA (NMNI-USA), Nutricare continuously integrates international scientific advancements into product formulas, pioneering new approaches to pediatric immune care in Vietnam.
Amid year-round seasonal infections, the Metacare Colostrum 2+ nutrition product was developed by combining high levels of IgG antibodies from imported U.S. colostrum with advanced Postbiotic probiotic technology. This comprehensive nutritional solution helps children stay healthy, gain weight, and build strong physical development.

With a combination of 1,500 mg IgG antibodies from colostrum and 30 billion Lactococcus lactis Plasma Postbiotic probiotics, Metacare Colostrum provides a “dual immune defense” to support comprehensive protection for children. While colostrum strengthens the natural protective barrier, Postbiotics activate the internal immune system, helping the body fight viruses and bacteria. This results in fewer illnesses, faster recovery, and a solid foundation for healthy growth.
In addition, HMOs in the formula help balance the gut microbiome and enhance the intestinal mucosal immune barrier. The product also includes soluble fiber (FOS/Inulin) to retain water, soften stools, and stimulate bowel movement, helping reduce constipation.

Metacare Colostrum is formulated with nutrient-rich ingredients, providing high-quality protein and essential amino acids such as Lysine to stimulate appetite, enhance energy metabolism, and promote healthy weight gain. The trio of Calcium, Vitamin K2, and Vitamin D3 supports strong bone development and contributes to height growth during the child’s critical development phase.
With this balanced combination of essential nutrients, Metacare Colostrum 2+ becomes a comprehensive nutritional solution that strengthens immunity while laying a solid foundation for children to gain weight and grow taller.
