The rate of respiratory diseases in Vietnamese children is increasing
In recent years, environmental pollution in Vietnam has become increasingly serious, especially in large cities. IQAir’s annual survey ranked Vietnam as the second most polluted country in the ASEAN region and the 22nd worst air quality globally. According to statistics from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, up to 70% of children hospitalized are due to respiratory infections. Nutrition experts shared at the 25th National Pediatric Conference taking place from October 31, 2024 to November 2, 2024 in Hue City that the rate of children hospitalized due to respiratory diseases has increased continuously in recent years.
