‘These cups of milk warm our hearts’

Among the parents attending was Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan from Bac Ninh, whose three-year-old child is undergoing treatment at the hospital. She shared emotionally: She was so happy to see her child drinking milk. Ms. Lan confided that she and her husband have 3 children, the youngest child is 3 years old, and has a neuroblastoma that has only been treated for a few months. Doctors said that his illness requires long-term and expensive treatment. The couple makes a living by farming and doing small businesses in the countryside. Normally, such a life requires a lot of frugality to make ends meet. But when the youngest child got sick, all the family’s resources were devoted to him, and family expenses became more and more difficult. However, she still gave the best to treat her child, even if she had to borrow money. She also saved every bit of her own money to take care of her child’s nutrition, helping her child have the health to fight the disease.

Ms. Lan emotionally shared at the ceremony.

“Each can of milk normally costs us three to four hundred thousand dong and lasts only about 10–15 days. Receiving this donation helps us save money and ensures my child has proper nutrition to fight the disease. I am deeply grateful, this support truly warms a mother’s heart”.

Also receiving milk was 14-year-old Tran Minh Duc, currently being treated at the Hospital’s Cancer Center, said that his child found the milk a bit richer than normal milk, but he still drank it and drank it regularly. His mother added that normally she still bought fresh milk and boxed milk for her child to drink, but since the day the uncles and aunts asked her to go to the Social Work Department to receive the sponsor’s milk, she went down to get it and let her child drink it.

At the ceremony to present 40,000 glasses of milk, the mother of patient Hoang Anh Thu, on behalf of the families who received milk, was moved to express her most sincere thanks for the attention of Health & Life Newspaper, Nutricare Nutrition Joint Stock Company and the medical staff of the National Children’s Hospital for always accompanying and sharing difficulties with the families and paying special attention to the nutritional issues of disadvantaged children.

Thousand cups of milk carry thousand hopes, lovingly delivered to children facing difficulty.
