(SKĐS) – From 7/5 to 9/5/2026, in Hung Yen, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, Nutricare, in collaboration with the Nutricare Medical Nutrition Institute – USA (NMNI-USA), successfully organized a customer conference combined with the scientific symposium “C-Section Babies – A different start and 6-HMO nutrients innspired by breast milk.”

The event took place in a formal setting, bringing together pediatricians and nutrition experts from the United States, Japan, and Vietnam, along with nearly 2000 of Nutricare’s strategic partners nationwide.

Actress Van Trang, along with many celebrities, attended the event and learned about the breakthrough nutritional formulas developed by Nutricare and NMNNI-USA.

Beyond networking, the conference also served as an open forum where Nutricare’s partners could hear nutrition experts share the latest research on child development, especially concerning C-section babies – a group that is becoming increasingly common in modern society.

Through its useful content, the program provided a comprehensive perspective on the specific nutritional needs of C-section babies and suitable solutions to improve their health during the first years of life.

C-Section babies and the challenges of a different start

One of the key topics emphasized by experts at the conference was the difference in the immune system and gut microbiota between vaginally born babies and C-section babies.

C-section babies often do not come into contact with beneficial maternal “microbial armor” during birth because they do not have the opportunity to encounter beneficial bacteria through the mother’s birth canal. They therefore miss this important physiological window, resulting in a microbiota deficiency and delayed immune system development.

PhD, MD, Level II Specialist Nguyen Thi Thu Hau – Head of the Department of Nutrition, Children’s Hospital 2, speaking at the event.

A reduction in beneficial bacteria in a child’s body can increase the risk of digestive diseases, allergies, eczema, and asthma. In the long term, without timely intervention, microbiota imbalance may leave systemic “sequelae,” making children more susceptible to long-term immune disorders, obesity, and type 1 diabetes.

To restore the microbiota of C-section babies, breast milk is always the “gold standard” of nutrition, containing HMOs, antibodies, and natural beneficial bacteria that help restore the child’s microbiota in the best possible way.

When a mother’s milk is delayed or insufficient after a cesarean delivery, the child needs scientifically designed supplemental solutions to restore digestion by rebuilding the intestinal environment, compensating for the microbiota deficiency, and strengthening immune defenses. Scientific studies presented at the conference showed that the gut microbiota plays a pivotal role in establishing the foundation of immunity, supporting nutrient absorption, and protecting children against pathogens.

PhD, MD, Level II Specialist Nguyen Thi Thu Hau – Head of the Department of Nutrition, Children’s Hospital 2, particularly emphasized the importance of supplementing nutritional components that apply advanced scientific achievements to help balance the microbiota and strengthen immunity in C-section babies. A notable example is 6-HMOs – valuable nutrients structurally similar to HMOs in breast milk, which nourish beneficial bacteria, balance the gut microbiota, and support healthy digestive and immune systems, making them particularly suitable for C-section babies.

Meanwhile, the postbiotic Lactococcus lactis strain Plasma (LC-Plasma) was described by PhD, MD Yusuke Ushida – Director of the Institute of Health Science, Kirin Nutrition Group, Japan – as one of the latest breakthrough technologies for enhancing immunity in young children. The LC-Plasma postbiotic is highly stable and can be stored at room temperature. Once inside the body, it activates pDCs – the “commander” cells of the immune system – thereby broadly activating immune cells to fight pathogens.

PhD, MD Yusuke Ushida – Director of the Institute of Health Science, Kirin Nutrition Group, Japan, sharing the role of postbiotics in young children’s nutrition.

On behalf of Nutricare, Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh – Chief Executive Officer, shared at the event: “Understanding the specific challenges faced by C-section babies, we focus on researching nutritional solutions grounded in modern science. The complex of 6-HMOs, lactoferrin, colostrum, and postbiotics is considered key to helping compensate for natural deficiencies and supporting children’s development from their earliest years.” Nutricare’s modern manufacturing process and stringent quality control system also ensure that its products meet high standards and are suited to the physical characteristics of Vietnamese children.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Minh – Chief Executive Officer of Nutricare, speaking at the event.

Steadfast in its journey to advance Medical Nutrition, with science as the foundation and consumers at the center, Nutricare is gradually realizing its mission of accompanying generations of Vietnamese people toward physical health and mental well-being.
