Australia’s victory over Jordan helped Vietnam, despite a defeat and losing first place in Group G to the UAE, still win tickets to the third qualifying round as one of the five best runners-up in the group.
This is a worthy achievement for Coach Park Hang-Seo and his team, who have maintained their unbeaten record until the last match in a group that is considered the most unpredictable in the second qualifying round.
Vietnam drew Thailand in both matches, won 12 maximum points against Malaysia and Indonesia as well as had a valuable victory over UAE at My Dinh in the first leg and only had one match with a 2-3 defeat against UAE last night, June 16 on home stadium of UAE.
Defenders, discipline, and competitive spirit are the foundation for the success of the Vietnamese team’s recent campaign. The tenacious playing bravery, fiery and đeication of the players has once again been confirmed. Courageous fighting spirit has helped our team create a historic feat – definitely present in the 3rd qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup.
This result is a testament to the strong desire of the players to affirm the Vietnamese spirit. Even there was no victory against UAE – a stronger team with a higher level in the last match of the 2nd qualifying rounds, but the players of the Vietnamese team won the hearts of the fans because of their unwavering bravery in the whole journey to the 3rd qualifying round.
