Through this natural contact, beneficial bacteria become established in the gut\u2014the site of approximately 70% of the body\u2019s immune system. Not passing through the birth canal gives children born by C-section fewer opportunities to come into contact with beneficial bacteria from their mothers immediately after birth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Beneficial bacteria not only support digestion but also help reduce the risk of allergies, limit intestinal infections, and participate in the synthesis of essential vitamins such as vitamin K and B vitamins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to experts, immune-system maturation in children born by C-section may take up to 6 months to achieve sufficient levels of beneficial bacteria, compared with only 10 days for children born vaginally. This slower maturation can lead to problems such as poor digestion, allergies, and respiratory issues. However, effective nutritional care requires an approach suited to the distinct biological characteristics of this group of children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Breastfeeding remains the top priority. Breast milk contains beneficial biological components, particularly human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), which serve as a \u201cfood source\u201d for beneficial bacteria &#8211; especially Bifidobacteria &#8211; while also helping prevent disease-causing bacteria from adhering to the intestinal lining.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, Lactoferrin and natural IgG antibodies have antibacterial properties and help regulate immune function by inhibiting the growth of harmful microorganisms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experts also emphasize that being born by C-section does not mean a child is \u201cweaker\u201d; rather, it is a factor associated with a different biological starting point. Appropriate support can help the child adapt and develop healthily.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In practice, however, not every mother can maintain an adequate milk supply. Delayed lactation or difficulty maintaining milk production may result from health factors or medical interventions.
